TUESDAY NIGHT ACTIVITIES

We meet every 8pm 1st Tuesday of the month at the Tap & Spile in Durham.

Activity evenings are held on all other Tuesday's.

During the Summer - Tuesday Evening activities (walking, biking and climbing) are held at outside venues, See Forum for details.

Winter - Climbing alternates between Rock Antics, Sunderland Wall and Newcastle Climbing Centre (between 19:30-21:30)

Background

Durham Mountain Sports was founded by several of our current members who were previously members of other clubs and who decided that they would really prefer an outdoor pursuits club on their own doorstep. After a brief advertising campaign, they set the ball rolling in October 2003 with 22 members. In January of 2004 membership had risen to 42, by 2006 there were over 60 and so - calculates Phil - will include the entire population of Durham by 2012!

Location

We don't have permanent facilities, but we do have access to a private room in a friendly pub with a decent selection of beers!

The Tap & Spile Public House, Framwellgate Moor, Durham Durham Mountain Sports outdoor pursuits club meets at the Tap & Spile Public House (right), Front Street, Framwellgate Moor, Durham at 8.00pm on the first Tuesday of every month.

AGM

The club AGM is held in January each year.
